Karoo Primary School prides itself on its Transition and Orientation program. Sessions are tailored for pre-school children with an emphasis on introducing the school environment to them. We place a high priority on our Transition Program with our aim being to make the move from pre-school to primary school as smooth as possible. Children and parents are encouraged to participate in our Transition Program to explore the exciting and stimulating programs we offer.
Pre-school children sessions
Splash Into Colour at Karoo
A fun evening for the whole family! All pre-school children and their parents are invited to this special open night at Karoo. Lots of fun activities, meet other prospective Karoo families … and don’t forget to wear your favourite colour.
* Due to current health crisis, this has been postponed until further notice.
‘Finding Foundation’ – our transition program
We will be running four transition sessions during Term 4 giving the children a taste of school life. Sessions will run on 27th October, 10th November, 17th November and 24th November. The program concludes with our Foundation Orientation Day on 8th December 2020. These transition sessions are for children enrolled at Karoo Primary.
Foundation Orientation Day – Tuesday 8th December 2020
An exciting orientation session for your child (and their teddy). Activities include art, craft, singing, story time and a Teddy Bear’s Picnic. Children will be introduced to their 2020 classroom teacher and classmates.
Parents welcome to a class ‘meet and greet’ morning tea in the staffroom.
Due to the current health crises, we are planning a special online information session in July covering Foundation curriculum and learning at Karoo – date and time and booking details will be posted shortly.
We will be running a parent session in November for parents of children enrolled in Karoo for 2021, providing all the information you will need to know for your child starting school (days, times, what to bring, routines, what to expect, etc).
