The Karoo Reading Challenge begins again on Tuesday April 18th 2017 (Day 1 of Term 2) and  will end on Friday August 4th 2017.

This wonderful event encourages students to develop not only their reading skills but also their love of books.

Participants in years Prep to 2 need to read 20 books to complete the challenge and Years 3 to 6 need to read 10.

A recording sheet will be given to the students by their teachers. This recording sheet tells the students the types of books that they will need to read to complete the challenge.

For the readers who wish to extend themselves even further, there is the Go for Gold Challenge which can be done after completing the original sheet/sheets.

To celebrate student achievements, everyone that completes the Karoo Reading Challenge will be given a bookmark from the library, a certificate (either Karoo Reading Challenge or Go for Gold) and an entry into the prize draw. Certificates and prize draw will occur during Book Week.

One student from each year level will win an amazing book prize.

Last year we had an impressive 224 students complete the Challenge and 117 students who completed the Go for Gold. Let’s see if we can beat that number this year!
